Oldies Music CDs
What is an oldie?
I suppose it depends a lot on when you were born. For those born in the 20’s and 30’s an oldie would probably be Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, Eddie Fisher and other crooners from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. The next generation, those born in the 40’s would think of Fats Domino, Ruth Brown, Hank Ballard along with Pat Boone, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Fabian, Frankie Avalon. For rock ‘n’ rollers born in the 50’s and 60’s there is The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and the rest of the British Invasion of the 60’s. It just goes on and on.People like myself (the baby boomers) are fortunate enough to have seen (and heard) the growth of rock ‘n’ roll from it’s beginnings in the Mississippi Delta, Philadelphia, Detroit, San Francisco, and on to England. We have experienced Rockabilly, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Soul, The Motown Sound, Disco and various combinations of these musical types. We all have our favorite groups or individuals and probably none of us could ever compile a Top 10 or 20 or even 100 of our favorite songs because there have been way too many great songs during the past 50+ years.
For our purposes we are including music from the mid-50’s to the mid-90’s. This will keep everything at least 15 years old. We are calling it Oldies – Rock because some of it isn’t old—it’s timeless. There are some great new CD’s being released each month that are not only compilations of Oldies, but re-releases of original albums as well. Check back often because we are constantly upgrading our catalog of Oldies – Rock.
Use our internal search engine to look for an artist, album, or song title. If you can’t find what you are looking for e-mail us and we will do our best to find it for you.
